
Eleni Nicholas is a soprano from Durham, North Carolina. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Opera Theatre Performance at the University of South Carolina, where she studies with Rachel Calloway. In February 2026, she performed the titular role of Thérèse / Tirésias in Opera at USC’s production of Les Mamelles de Tirésias.
In addition to her performance work, Eleni has a passion for arts administration. She serves as the Marketing and Social Media Director for USC’s Ears Wide Open concert series and works as an Opera Theatre Graduate Assistant.
Eleni earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Eastman School of Music in May 2025, where she studied with Robert Swensen.
During her time with Eastman Opera Theatre, Eleni was seen as Mother in Paola Prestini's Silent Light, performed in the Feral Children’s Chorus in Allen Shawn's H&G: a great and terrible story, and covered the role of Nuria in Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar.
Eleni is also a frequent recitalist, with her most recent performances including a recital on Signal Mountain, Tennessee (July 2025), her Eastman School degree recital (April 2025), a lieder recital in Rochester (April 2025), and a recital in her hometown of Durham, NC (July 2024).
